The Brief: Bankers are today’s panto villains. But Clydesdale Bank and Yorkshire Bank always had a tradition of looking after the local community. And they wanted to shout about it with a nationwide in-branch, outdoor and DM campaign.
The Solution: Working as part of a team I helped create a campaign focused on showcasing truly local people getting the service and products they needed from their local bank. We even threw in a free mug relevant to the town the campaign was running in.
The Result: Incredible. Although not a sophisticated approach, it was right on the money. Local communities loved it. In fact, the Ayr branch of Clydesdale Bank saw a 200% uplift in footfall and enquiries during the campaign. And for the lucky few who starred in the campaign they well and truly earned their 15 mins of fame off the back of this. A great example of this being Gordon the owner of Cherries in St.Andrews, he experienced a huge uplift in footfall and sales in his shop during the period of this campaign.
